The motor is reversible so that you can sharpen your blade in either direction.  I like to use Tormek PA-70 honing compound on the leather strop for a nice finish, but you can use any stroping compound that you wish.  This is the easiest machine that I have ever used for getting a  V  tool back to a good cutting edge.  Now you don't have to throw the old V tool away and buy a new one when you can sharpen them with ease now.  The machine is also very quiet so you can use it in work area without annoying anyone.  The machine is used, but in like new condition, and the diamond lap, and leather strop are new. The reversing is done by means of a rocker switch with a center off position. 110 volt, 30 watt motor. The unit you receive may be slightly different from pictures, but most are very close to the same. This unit would also work very well for sharpening gravers, and be able to use a tool like the Crocker, or GRS to hold your graver on the flat platform.  The machine also does a great job on kitchen knives, and touching up those old scissors. Also your blade type screwdrivers. Even had one buyer that sharpens the blades on his ice auger.
