There is more wool than you will need in the bag. Included with the wool are two star needle felting needles, a pin back, batting for the form of the roses, and of course my new Needle Felted Rose Pin PATTERN describing how to make the pin. The only thing you will need is an inexpensive foam pad to protect your table while poking the needle in the wool. Needle felting is FUN and amazing! What a fabulous and affordable gift a kit would be for family or friends! It is not difficult to learn and the pins are just gorgeous! In your kit you will receive 2 star needle felting barbed needles, a generous bag of wool fleece, batting, a pin back and a pinch of lustrous soy silk for accents. Everything you need to make an elegant wool rose! The wool roses have rich tones and are wonderful to touch. My pattern that is included will explain the art of needle felting. It is basically poking the wool with a barbed needle until the fibers cling to each other...it is pretty magical to watch it happen! I can easily say I am addicted to needle felting! It is a portable art and you can go outside with your wool and enjoy the fresh air while needle felting. Touching the wool is so relaxing and it is such a surprise to see how the rose turns out after you felt it. No two roses would ever be the same. I have never had so much fun! I will add the description of my roses below. I sell the actual roses on ebay also. All of my pins are original because it would be very difficult to needle felt the same way every time. The wool colors I use are mixed and this is what makes each pin so individual. The floral pin is made from a blend of several types of wool AND soy silk! The strings of glit in the leaves and the rose are soy silk. When you touch the silk you can not feel it because it is beyond soft! I photographed this gorgeous pin outside to show you how the sun catches the rich tones and the soy silk. Just amazing. I needle felted the pin using many colors of wool roving. The rose is about 2-1/2 inches wide. The leaves spread to 4-1/2 inches. It is a shame the photograph can not show the soft wonderful feel of this pin because it truly is stunning. There is a one inch pin clasp on the back of the pin. What soft elegance this would bring to a blouse, dress or sweater. I could see this on a hat or coat also!
