WOODEN RUG HOOKING STRIP HOLDER - HANDMADE - PRHG Start Price USD 45.00 Current Price USD 45.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, September 05, 2008 End Time Monday, September 15, 2008 Location Reading, Pennsylvania See more about 'WOODEN RUG HOOKING STRIP HOLDER - HANDMADE - PRHG' Description Up for your consideration is a nifty gadget that a lot of hookers love.  This is a wooden strip holder that will separate your strips into colors while you're hooking to keep things organized.  I purchased this in 2003 and only used it once.  The reason it didn't work out for me is because the area where I hook just doesn't allow room for me to have this next to me and it just made it easier for me to not use it.  This is very very well made and is handmade in the USA.  It is quite heavy.  It is signed on the bottom by the man that made it.  There are also 4 felt feet on the bottom so that it doesn't mark your furniture.  The wood is very thick.  Measures approximately 10 1/2" square.  The center post measures approximately 14 1/2" high.  The four wooden bars measure approximately 6 1/8" Long where there are 4 pegs on each to allow separation for your strips.  Two things I want to mention about this holder.  First of all I removed one of the pegs and put it in a safe place.  I removed it because I wanted a larger area to put my background color since that is always so much more strips than the other colors.  Of course I do not remember the safe place so I don't have that peg.  You can do the same though and use that area for your background strips.  Secondly the man that made this signed on the bottom Strip caddy for Cyndi Hartman with a Sharpie.  My last name used to be Hartman at that time.  If this bugs you, you can simply sand over that and then apply some stain to the bottom to cover it up.  It was nice of him to do but now that I want to sell it I wanted to be sure that you knew that.  It's almost like buying a used book that has the bookplate inside with someone else's name on it.  Just wanted you to know.  This is the best strip holder I have found.  It leaves plenty of room in the bottom to store more wool, scissors, hooks, the remote control, and anything else you might want to have nearby you when you hook.  The sides measure approximately 2 3/4" high so you can put pretty much in there.  Depending on what type of snippet dish you use you might be able to fit that inside.  This is very well made and very versatile.  Like I said it's made very well and quite heavy.  Weighs almost 4 pounds.  If you want that extra peg you can simply buy the correct size dowel and cut it to length, stain it and Voila!  This strip holder will never tip over for you.  It's a good sturdy piece and best of all made in the USA by a wood worker!!
