Description
Vintage Southwest Mexican theme wall hanging or hooked rug of a man wearing sombrero and serape, in a sunny landscape with cactus and pottery. This is a Wonder Art, Rug No. 201. The design is lively, done with vivid colors of red, orange, yellow, greens, blues, etc. The yarns or material loops look like a combination of a chenille type, a cotton, and some that has a light sheen (nylon?) - like the stuff that is used in old potholders. The backing feels like burlap. The total outer dimension is a little over 23” X a little over 36”. The area for the completed rug, including the delineated unfinished border, is 20” X 32”. The rug is not quite finished but almost there! There is a border area that needs filling in as well a curving area over the image at top (between the colorful corners and the image itself). There are occasional scattered spots or a touch of dinginess here and there on some of the loops but this is still a sturdy and bright piece. Buyer pays Priority Mail S&H (in U.S.) or First Class (Air) International. Because of weight, exact cost depends on location. Shipping weight is 2 pounds from zip code 13776. Feel free to e-mail for cost to your zip code or country, or you can use the shipping calculator. INSURANCE IS EXTRA AND DETERMINED AT THE END OF THE AUCTION. Buyer pick-up is NOT an option. NYS residents add appropriate sales tax.INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are responsible for customs charges - I can not mark item as gift! Payment by check, money order, or PayPal. Checks may take 7-10 business days to clear. PLEASE NOTE! I’ve had a few occasions where post-auction e-mail has ended up in “Spam” or “Bulk” mail files. If you do not hear from me within 24 hours of the auction’s end, please check those folders or be sure to contact me! I will always e-mail within an hour or so of the auction’s end, rarely, but occasionally, the next day.
