The unique thing about Husqvarna Viking's (800/358-0001) Huskylock 1002 LCD serger is that it includes two cover stitch widths: 3mm for lightweight fabrics and 6mm for heavier materials. The cover stitch serges two rows of straight stitches on top of the fabric while also producing an overlock stitch on the bottom. The Huskylock's "Sewing Advisor," an LCD panel on the front of the machine, recommends thread tension, needle size, presser foot and stitch length and width. The serger offers 2-3-4-5 thread capabilities and an option for an overcast stitch for heavy garments such as denim. A guide in the foot makes it easy to add ribbon, wire and decorative threads.
