VINTAGE Tiffany-STYLE Stained Glass Swag  Lamp -- Curved Glass Shade Here is the story on this one as I know it: I acquired this piece at an estate auction some time ago. Vintage is appropriate since I know not the exact date of manufacture. When I took it to a long time stained glass maker and antique glass restorer, he immediately opined that the piece was probably from the early 1950's, though it COULD be older ... perhaps the 1920's. He offered that the maker, "Knew his stuff" and the 'leading' was of excellent quality. He further stated that the market is not hot right now for this kind of piece. Ten years ago, he thought the asking price would have been $1800 to $2400. OK, let me tell you what this piece is NOT! It is not new ... it is not plastic ... it is not damaged, nor was it when I got it ... it is not likely to be from China as one would find prevalent in most stores ... it is not signed or marked (We found none). OK, let me tell you what this piece IS! It is about 21" to 22" in diameter and about 16" high without the swag. The actual maker is unknown to us, but used quality materials. The stained pieces are glass ... the fruit 'bulges' ... the interior leading has a copper tone to it (NOT saying it is copper, just forgot to ask) ... it is put together well as in no loose parts ... the curved shade panels are of a light green which is very nice when lit, but very 'quiet' when not as the pictures show. The condition is consistent with age and use. In hanging it, we decided to used a new chain (old one too short) and lighting components, except for the 3 three incandescent bulb fixture which I took from another lamp. We think a globe would look much better, so we can ship the entire piece or just the shade (recommended). If Tiffany-Style stained glass is your thing ... it would be hard to go wrong with this piece. Shipping will be by FEDEX Ground (Great success with them and lower cost).
