This red/white, 101" x 73" all cotton quilt was made by South Texas sewing artisans, in the last ten years. ~ The tedious, quilt-top piecing used thirty-five, white 6" squares for the embroidery backgrounds. ~ The simple scenes show children at leisure and play, women, couples, sports, work horses, dogs, pig, owl, and wooden shoes. There is even Uncle Sam with an American Flag, and a colonial soldier with rifle. ~ The red and white bands used patterns of poka dots, lattice, hearts, checks, and more, which are randomly mixed. These bands measure from 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" wide, in many different lengths. ~ The quilt workers then used a thin cotton batting, and a plain white backing to complete this one-of-a kind quilt, for bed, furniture, or wall display. ~ This handsewn, Amish Style QUILT is like new, with no signs of use, or damage. ~ If you lay a long, vertical straight-edge (on the quilt), you will note an occasional line that is not perfectly straight.
