Description
Understanding the Spinning Wheel This is a long awaited book Authored by Eric Corran, a man skilled in engineering, with a lifetime love of woodcraft & working with with his hands, has at last, in response to the many requests he has received from Hand Spinners & Wood Craft Artisans from around the world, share with them his extensive knowledge of the craft of Making, Maintaining & Understanding the complexities of the Hand Spinning Wheel so that the craft could be carried on by both the professional & amature artisans. Eric & his son Russ desinged & manufactured thousands of Spinning Wheels under the "SHERIDAN" brand between 1965 & 1982, with 7# models of wheels in the range. They both enjoyed the challenge of restoring old & antique wheels of which they did many for spinners world wide. The Wheel pictured on the cover is one example of their unique skills. The book contains 25# chapters that cover from the first conceptual design of a spinning & spooling machine as visualised & drawn by Leonado Da Vinci in 1450AD, though to a complete set of plans that will enable the reader to construct their own spinning wheel with only a moderate level of wood working ability and moderate wood working machinery requirements, resulting in the production of a spinning wheel that will look asthetically appealing for the user & will function correctly. The book has also been written with the Hand Spinner in mind, to provide a broader understanding  of the HOW & WHY a spinning wheel works & should work. It outlines the importance of the ratios between the Drive wheel, Flyer & Bobbins (Spools), & the relationship that they have to the amount of twist introduced into a given yarn which dictates the softness & strength of it. The spinner will also be able to trouble shoot, pinpoint problems & correctly maintain their wheel-s   A BEAUTIFULLY BOUND HARD COVER BOOK AUTOGRAPHED BY THE AUTHOR ANSWERS ALL YOUR QUESTIONS SHOWS YOU HOW & WHY STEP BY STEP   A MUST FOR ALL HAND SPINNERS & WHEEL MAKERS   YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE LISTING ENDS BUY IT NOW   "IMPORTANT" Condition of Sale Please note as "Feedback"is regarded as an important & intrigal part of being recognised as an Honest & Fair Trader on eBay.  Therefore due to past experiences, I will only leave my Feedback for you, after you the buyer has left your Feedback for me,  as a confirmation that you have received your goods safely.
