The tiki statues I carve are made from the trunks of very old Sabal Palms. These statues are hand carved by me, Palm Tree Charlie. They are not some mass produced item cheaply made. Every characteristic of the carving, besides the natural features of the trunk, is hand produced by me. The Tiki statue carvings are newly carved and not previously owned. Each Tiki carving is unique and no two are exactly alike but are carved to look similar. For a new twist in landscape design add a tiki carving in a landscape bed for accenting or set a potted plant on top of the carving. These carvings can add a lot of character to a landscape design, as well as increase conversation among your neighbors as to "how cool it looks", and "where did he get that". I carved my first Tiki 27 years ago and I still have this same Tiki at the front gates of my home.  Although it has been outside in the weather it still looks good. The trunk will slowly change color, and a patina will develop over time which gives it an authentic cultured look. It is best if they are kept out of the rain or off the bare ground, but even so they will last for years. I have several inside and around my house, and they really add a lot of warmth and charm.
