SIGNED COPY - COLLECTIBLE (1981) The Weaving Book is a GEM and I feel fortunate to be able to offer it, especially since it is SIGNED by Helene Bress in the year of publication.  Please refer to photograph of signature.  It is out of print, hard to find and is in mint condition.  Although the book is listed as used, the owner never used it.  The dust jacket and contents are clean, the binding tight and square with crisp unmarked pages.  I have an identical book and just LOVE it!  Helene Bress is one of the country's foremost weavers and has explored and experimented with weaving techniques for seventeen years when The Weaving Book was published in 1981. She has exhibited her work at and judged and juried many weaving shows, and has conducted workshops on natural dyeing, macramé, and inkle weaving for many weaving guilds and craft organizations.  This is a must own book for your weaving library. The Weaving Book by Helene Bress: Contains nearly 3,000 variations of Plain Weave, Overshot, Twill, Monk's Belt, and Huck Weaves.  The plain-weave chapter includes a substantial section on warp- and weft-faced effects and log cabin and color effects, as well as basket weave, spaced warps, and the use of texture. Twill variations include the usual straight, point, and broken treadlings, plus treadlings as sunburst, honeycomb, huck, and lace. Overshot early American coverlet motifs and some of their variations are clearly charted. How to enlarge and miniaturize patterns, design drafts.
