The blade measures 31 inches and the sord overall measures 38 inches. The blade is in good condition and bears the makers mark of Robert Mole and Sons , Birmingham makkers to the war and India Offices, The scabbard is black leather and has brass mountings. Dates about 1890 to 1910. . Mole also supplied the Confederacy with a number of distinctive cavalry sabres. These were close copies of the English cavalry Model-1853, but with all brass guard.
