After connecting the embroidery unit, double check that the bobbin winder is dis-engaged (in the left position) and the buttonhole lever is pushed all the way up. Make sure that the needle is in the highest position by turning the handwheel toward you and stopping at the top. It's important to follow this sequence: Turn on the Futura machine WITHOUT any hoop attached. (You must always turn on the machine without any hoop connected.)
