There will over a year's shelf life remaining when you receive it. The resin portion weighs 40#, and the catalyst weighs about 4#. Use it for making molds for industrial parts, jewelry, figurines, soap, candles, etc... I also have this product in other sizes- check my eBay store or other auctions. It is very soft and stretchy- it has a durometer of 28 Shore A. Among the many things you can cast into molds made of this product: Urethane (polyurethane) Polyester casting resin Plaster Hydrocal, Hydrostone Low melt metals (mold life can be short) Cement, Concrete epoxy Soap Wax This silicone is used for making cast "block" or thinner "skin" molds.  It flows very nicely and picks up incredible detail.
