Description
You are bidding on a full raw Shetland fleece. The fleece itself weighs 6.5 pounds. This fleece is Mioget (natural) colored with some brown and gray tips. It has a length of 6 inches. The first picture shows the fleece from the top. The second picture shows the fleece flipped over to see the true color of this fleece. This beautiful fleece was professionally shorn from our large, primitive Shetland ram, named Ram Boy, in May of 2008. It is very soft with a nice crimp. Since this is a natural color, the pictures show the dirt more than the actual color. This Ram was also ‘in the rise’ when sheared so it has more lanolin than normal on the wool. He was not coated, so his fleece has some dirt and vegetable matter on it, but it all should clean up very nicely when processed. I had this same Ram’s wool processed last year and it does indeed turn out as a beautiful natural color with a few brown and gray tips here and there. We performed a basic skirting on the fleece after it was shorn to remove the majority of manure and grease tags as well as any loose fiber and second cuts. We only accept PayPal payments. We are currently only shipping via USPS Priority Mail to customers in the United States. Buyer to pay all shipping costs. Please use the shipping calculator to estimate the shipping cost to your location. Orders will be shipped within 2 business days upon receipt of payment. Please note that we add a $3 handling fee in our shipping price to off-set the cost of packaging and the rising cost of gas to bring your package to the post office. Please feel free to e-mail with any questions. I’d be happy to e-mail you a picture of the actual sheep that this fleece came from if you’re interested.
