Both of these products are found at your local home or hardware store for ultra cheap!To apply the pinecones, simply spread joint compound over the back of the dried plaster piece you got from your mold, hold it to the wall for 60 seconds and it's there good and tight!In the example, the wall was painted green, the joint compound was tinted light green and applied to the pine branch stencil over the wall. Once it dried, the pinecone mold was cast to create plaster pine cones that were then painted brown. They were applied with joint compound as the adhesive, directly over the top of the plastered pine branches. The look is expensive and incredibly beautiful!Don't want an entire wall of it? Simply do the corners of walls or ceiling or create central friezes over doorways or windows.A perfect design for the man of the house who loves nature. Designer's tip: By diluting acrylic or wall paint in a deeper color with just water, then wiping it over the design and immediately wiping off the excess, you can create an "antiqued" look to your design, bringing out it's detail even further. Use common joint compound (also called Wall Mud). It comes pre-mixed for you in a bucket and is available in the paint section of most home and hardware stores and acts just like frosting. Just get some on a small trowel or putty knife and spread evenly over the top of the stencil, lift the stencil and there's the design! It's a cinch and a total ball! Now just let it dry.Either paint the color of your wall as a simple raised design or paint with craft or stencil paints.
