Description
This auction is for a complete rug hooking kit by Sharon Perry. The pattern is drawn on a beautiful cotton monks cloth with a 2 X 2 grid, so nice to work with. The kit includes the pattern and cut wool strips needed to complete this 13 X 21 inch Primitive Hooked Rug. Care has been taken in the packaging of this kit - it comes in a very sturdy zipper lock bag that's most convenient for taking it out and putting away at your leisure. It's a pretty simple design with a great mix of dyed and as is 100% wools - all brand new and stripped to a #8 size which is perfect for primitive rug hooking. Hooked up this kit would make a great wall hanging, table centerpiece, or hung above a shelf or door frame. The cats are hooked with my rich pitch black. The Colonial Home is hooked with rich real red and butterscotch. The door is done in a light shade of rusty brown and the roof in a dyed green. The ivy surrounding the subjects in this rug is done with brown, deep green and deep red. The background of this piece is my favorite part - its a mixture of dyed mustards, golds and rusts all hooked at random. I've then hooked two rows of outer border in a rich dark brown to add a great finishing touch. Here's what you will receive if you purchase this kit: Color Photo of Completed Rug Comprehensive Rug Hooking Instructions Color Key # 8 Cut 100% Wool Fabric Strips Pattern hand drawn on cotton monks cloth sealed at the edges to prevent fraying Rug Binding for the Finished Rug I accept paypal, money orders and personal checks - a postage fee of 6.95 for priority mail within the U.S. or 7.95 airmail to Canada will be added to the winning bid. I do offer a shipping discount ir more than one item is purchased. If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first couple of rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. I haven't included a hook with this kit because I find that most people interested in this hobby already have one, but if you don't and are in need of one, I have solid maple Moshimer hooks available for $6.00 with any kit purchase. If you have any questions or would like to discuss rug hooking in general, please email me and thanks for your interest in my work.
