Description
This auction is for a complete rug hooking kit hand drawn on cotton monks cloth by Sharon Perry. It includes everything you need to complete this 7 X 21 inch Primitive Hooked Rug. Care has been taken in the packaging of this kit - it comes from a smoke free home in a very sturdy zipper lock bag that's most convenient for taking it out and putting away at your leisure. It's a pretty simple design with lots of great primitive colors - a great kit for the beginner or seasoned rug hooker. The wool is a #8 cut (1/4"), perfect for primitive rug hooking. Hooked up this piece would look nice as a primitive table runner or wall hanging, especially over a door or window frame. I have this rug hanging over the door in the bathroom where it fits nicely and adds a beautiful touch of color. The posies are done with dyed antique mustards and golds. The leaves are done with a rich dyed olive green and the background with a rich deep red and a touch of rosy red. I then added two rows of rich charcoal to make a primitive contrasting border and finish it off nicely. Here's what you will receive if you purchase this kit: Color Photo of Completed Rug Comprehensive Rug Hooking Instructions Color Key #8 Cut 100% Wool Strips Pattern Hand Drawn on cotton monks cloth (2X2 grid) sealed at the edges to prevent fraying Rug Binding for the Finished Rug I accept paypal, money orders and personal checks. A postage fee of 5.95 for priority mail within the U.S. or 6.95 airmail to Canada will be added to the winning bid. I do offer a postage discount if more than one item is purchased. If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. I do have very sturdy reusable hoops by Hoop-La available for 3.50 - great for small to medium sized projects. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first couple of rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. I haven't included a hook with this kit because I find that most people interested in this hobby already have one, but if you don't and are in need of one, I have solid maple mediuim Moshimer hooks available for $6.00 with any kit purchase. If you would like either the hook or the hoop added to your purchase, please email me at the end of the auction and I'll adjust your invoice and include the extras in your order. If you have any questions or would like to discuss rug hooking in general, please email me and thanks for your interest in my work.
