The barrel is made from 1 1/8" brass rod or you can use hardwood if you wish.The wheels also are turned from brass or hardwood.The gleaming brass looks great but if you only have a small wood lathe the wood makes a nice model also.However with slow careful work you can even turn the soft brass on a wood lathe.
