This is an original hand hooked rug designed by me, Lois Roy ~ Olde Scotties Primitives. I was feeling very Patriotic one day and decided I needed to design something that was what I was feeling. I designed 2 rugs so to be Politically Correct. One was a Donkey and the other was an Elephant. Equal time given to both rug designs, so no one would be offended. This is the Donkey rug, the symbol of the Democratic Party. It is done in navy, red, cream and grey. It is made from 100% hand dyed wool, and is made on a primitive hairless linen backing. The colors I chose are soft and muted to give a vintage look to the rug. It measures 14” x 20” , the edging is made with 100 % wool with a piping for the edge.
