Description
Thank you for looking... You are bidding on an Oak Sewing Machine Cabinet that my mother purchased new in the 70's when they still made quality oak furniture. It is in pristine condition, has never been in a smoking home, and never shipped or damaged. The sewing machine platform drops down with the aid of balance springs and the sewing machine disappears inside the cabinet when the two end extension leaves are closed.  Note:  The Pfaff sewing machine shown in the photos is NOT included with the cabinet and being sold seperately.  There are drawers for holding lots of "sewing accessories" and spool holders on the doors. I'll consider shipping it to the lower 48 states and will work with you to get it to a shipping point.  Shipping costs are not included in the price.  You can either pay for the shipping yourself or reimburse me for whatever the actual shipping costs are.  I will deliver it for $1.00 per loaded mile for you, however, or you are welcome to come and pick it up.  It's rather heavy, due to the solid wood construction, and I would estimate it weighs at least 80 to 100 pounds. This is really a very beautiful cabinet and will give you years of of service.  I've looked at new cabinets of this size and they are selling for hundreds of dollars more and don't even compare in quality of construction and materials. I'll be happy to accept your personal check or money order.  Please understand, however, that I will hold shipping until the funds clear my bank.  Thank you for your understanding. Thank you again for looking.... Revisions 10/15/2008 Attached are two photos that show the cutout in the top of the cabinet where your machine would mount.  The cutout dimensions are 18 and 9/16 inches x 13 inches.  I'm a woodworker and it would be about an hour job to cut a piece of 3/4 inch oak plywood to these dimensions and then make cutouts for your machine to sit down into.  Anyone with a jig saw could do this for you very easily.  Or it may be possible to modify the plate (fits a Pfaff) that comes with the cabinet.  The machine actually mounts onto the plate that is 3 and 3/8 inches below the top surface of the cutout when the machine cabinet wings (extensions) are opened up.  The machine swings up into position ready to sew when the doors are opened.  I've attached two photos...one is of the opening in the top of the cabinet, one is of the Pfaff plate that comes with the cabinet (drops down flush the top of the cabinet), and the third is a drawing showing all the dimensions of the cabinet and plate.  Thank you again for your questions.  You can call me at 434-547-9642 if you have any questions...Marty
