Description
Lucet Braiding is an ancient craft for creating a square braid from a single thread. The earliest Lucet dates to the Viking Era. This brand new Lucet is made from Cherry Wood. Nearly any strong, even thread or yarn can be used for lucet cord. Finer threads can be used as a gimp as can ribbons and metallics. Early 19th century workers favored silk for their cords. Lucet Braids will be valuable for re-enactors, members of the Society for Creative Anachronism and participants in Renaissance Faires. "Idle moments in camp can be spent making lacing cord and trim to match your costume, from your own design, with a tool that fits easily into your workbasket, pouch, pocket or sleeve.
