Description
I have for bid a lot of 4 different types of exotic spinning fiber.   The first fiber is oppossum. I have 3 ziplock sandwich bags full. The fiber has longer guard hairs and shorter down. It is not washed, but doesnt smell and is not dirty that I can tell. It is a creamy white down, and the guard hair are creamy white tipped with black. The second fiber is bison. This fiber needs work. I was told that you cant walk up to a bison to sheer it, so they had to gather up hair that is shed from the ground making it tangled and dirty, It does clean up with some work and  is probably the softest fiber Ive ever worked with. The staple length is very short so Ive used it as an additive to wools. It is a rich chocolate brown color, but I make no guarentees with this fiber It is hard work to clean and process.  I have a gallon size ziplock bag of this fiber. The third fiber is chinchilla. I love it. I raise chinchillas and have been using their fur for years mixing it with wool. I collect it as they shed. It has very little VM, it has not been washed, but doesnt smell. It reminds me of angora rabbit, except its grey and shorter. It is just as light and flffy as angora is. I have a small ziplock bag of this fiber. The forth fiber is golden retriever. Yes- dog. Dog undercoat has been used for years in spinning. If you have acess to any of the spinning magazines they usually have pictures of samples of dog fiber that have been spun to show how it looks. It has  not been washed, I have a sandwich ziplock bag of it.   Thank you for looking!
