Description
Well, I got lucky.  My designer friend who sends me all of her leftover luxury fabrics to offer on eBay has a designer friend who specializes in high end knit & crochet items like sweaters, skirts and the like.  She has a whole attic full of yarns that she would like to liquidate.  These are likely to be imported, high quality yarns that you would pay top dollar for in a retail store.  We will be offering them to you at very reasonable, probably below wholesale prices for our starting bids.  More wonderful yarn! You have found here this gorgeous flat ribbon yarn from Vendome, called Contessa.  It was made in Italy.  The yarn is a blend of 88% Viscose and 12% Silk.  The color is a beautiful Charcoal Gray that in certain lights has a blue cast to it. (You can see from the photos that I had a little trouble capturing it just right.)  It has a subtle sheen.  The color number is 8017 and all balls are the same dye lot, which is 6721.  This auction is for a lot of 10 balls.   I have done some Dutch auctions with my yarn listings, but I find that Dutch auctions tend to create a lot of confusion and misunderstandings, so I'll be reserving that method for only certain listings.  So, please understand that you are bidding on one entire lot of ten 50g balls of yarn. Each ball is 50 grams and approximately 210 yards.  Needle size is not given, but I'm guessing that 3-1/2 to 4 would be optimal.  I don't really know how many stitches per inch.  HOWEVER, I do have this information from the designer:  She made a cabled long sleeve sweater in a seed stitch and it took 250 grams or 10 (ten) 25 gram balls -- and this was knitting with 2 strands of yarn.  Understand that this was done on a knitting machine, not by hand.  There's always going to be some variation depending on your style of knitting, but this should give you a rough guestimate of what you would need for your project.  Or what you could create from this lot.  This yarn is hand washable. The yarn is probably DK weight or smaller.  Definitely smaller than sport, but larger than fingering.  This yarn would be great for knitting scarves, shawls, sweaters and hats -- maybe socks, too.  You could use it alone or pair it with a coordinating carrying yarn for yet more interest. This yarn sold at wholesale for $6.00/ball; our starting price is below that as you can see.  So take advantage of this incredible deal to acquire some high quality, luxury yarn.I am happy to do my best to answer any other questions you  may have.  If I don't know the answer I'm happy to try and find out and get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for dropping by and Happy eBaying!! SHIPPING POLICIES I always try to ship within one business day of receipt of payment, since I know how much I like to receive things in a timely fashion! I also strive to be reasonable and fair with my shipping and handling fees. You will not be gouged with excess shipping charges! I do add a $2.00 handling fee to all shipping costs to cover both my time and the cost of supplies (included in quoted price.) I use Priority Mail, so buyers in the Continental U.S. should receive their item within just a couple of days.Note:  If you live locally, feel free to contact me to arrange pick up and save on shipping!  I am also happy to COMBINE SHIPPING; with the yarn it all depends on how much you buy and the best way for me to package it up, so please allow me to invoice you after your purchases BEFORE making payment.  I will do my best to keep shipping costs down -- it's gotten to be so outrageous! INTERNATIONAL POLICIES International orders will take longer and it is impossible to judge accurately exactly how long it will take, as you never know when something will be held up in Customs. I strive for honesty in my business practices and will always indicate on the customs form that I am shipping merchandise. Please do not ask me to declare the item as a gift.ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:  I NO LONGER SHIP FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONALLY.  I'M SORRY PRIORITY IS SO EXPENSIVE, BUT THERE ARE GOOD REASONS FOR GOING WITH PRIORITY.  PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO SHIP FIRST CLASS, EVEN TO CANADA.  THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. Important information about combining orders! I will gladly combine orders if you follow the guidelines below: Please wait until you have finished purchasing all of the auctions that you are interested in before making payment. Orders cannot be combined after they have been paid for. NO EXCEPTIONS. Once an item is paid for, shipping is automatically purchased for the order. When you make payment after you have made all of your purchases, you may combine your orders and apply shipping discounts as outlined below: On combined orders, the item with the highest shipping price will automatically be selected as the base shipping price and the smaller items will be included for only $2.00 each. Please email with any questions. RETURN POLICIES My complete Return Policy is outlined below, but with regard to Yarn Items, in the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase, I will gladly accept returns. Please contact me first for an RMA. Thank you! I guarantee that your item will arrive as stated in the auction. I only accept returns on defective or 'not as advertised' items. I do not offer returns on buyer's remorse purchases or wrong size issues. Please be sure that you completely understand what you are bidding on before committing to the purchase. An informed buyer is usually a happy buyer. I welcome any questions that might assist you in selecting the right item so please feel free to email -- I make every attempt to respond to all emails as quickly as possible. If an item arrives defective or 'not as advertised', the bidder/buyer must initiate contact within 5 days of having received the item. I will determine the best method for resolving the issue and return contact in a timely manner. Once a return has been authorized, the bidder/buyer has 10 days to return the item. NOTE: Many of my auctions are consignments from estate sales. I make every effort to determine and honestly describe the condition of the item; however, I am not an expert appraiser or authenticator. There may be age-related wear or defects and while I try to describe everything accurately, it is possible that minor blemishes or defects may be overlooked. However, it is our intention to conduct our business with integrity and honesty and you can rest assured that we would never intentionally mislead the buyer in order to make a sale. In a nutshell; if it is my mistake, I will do what I can to make it right. I will pay for return shipping on defective or 'not as advertised' products. Some of my most rewarding online transactions have been those where a customer has allowed me to fix my mistake and make it right. Thanks for stopping by and oh yes, Happy eBaying!!
