This was not installed, but was stained a light "oak" colored oil stain, in plans to use...plans changed, however! Now, I would like to pass on a little savings,I love fretwork! I hope you feel the same! To use, it can be used without doing a thing to it, or can be sealed with an oil based polurethane, or primed and painted. Attach with simple nails or screws, but I would pre-drill holes to reduce the possibility of splitting the wood.
