It is totally grand with Acanthus Leaf styling (typical in Victorian decorating) and it is so versatile! Use them as a repeating border on the wall, encircle your light fixture and either paint them the color of your ceiling or add our Old World Cherub Stencil to the inside for a heavenly mural! Use them on your fireplace then cast them in concrete and mortar to your cinder block wall! Even just one here and there laying out in your garden would be a wonderful surprise to visitors! There is one acanthus leaf scroll measuring 14" x 6" to the mold. Create one facing up, then one facing down in a beautiful repeat as an ornamental headboard above your bed. I can't wait to find their special place in my own home... (and the moment I get a chance to breath, I'm going to do just that!). Casting plaster is easy! Mix Plaster of Paris 2 parts plaster to one part water, stir well, pour in to the mold after spraying with Pam cooking spray or other release agent, wait 30-45 minutes then pop it out! Applying it to the wall is a cinch! Just spread the back with a coat of joint compound, hold to the wall for about 1 minute and it's there good and solid! Fashion wall frames, frames in rectangles or squares around your light fixture, round medallions of combined designs or even just a frieze over a doorway. It's a blast and it's so very beautiful! For heavier designs such as our Acanthus Column Top Mold or the Large Acanthus Flourish Mold, drill small nail holes in to recessed areas on the piece and after buttering the back with joint compound, nail small finishing nails in to the holes to assure good adhesion while the compound dries.
