This unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-woven coil basket comes from a rural village in the Sindh province of Pakistan, where basket weaving dates back thousands of years. Use it to organize desk clutter, or as a decorative piece in your home. It also makes an affordable and unique gift for anyone who loves tribal and native handmade pieces of art. This basket is woven by wrapping dyed palm leaves over a coiled bundle of river grass. The palm leaves are boiled in hot water using the appropriate colored dye. These leaves are then used along with the natural tone leaves to weave the basket. Sometimes these leaves are dyed multiple times to obtain the desired color.
