The pattern is called Kansas Dugout and it took me 5 months to complete on my home sewing machine. The finished size is 80" x 88".  It is made with fine quality fabric and will provide you with years of warmth and coziness. I purposely chose this pattern because of the breast cancer awareness theme in it, I wanted it to resemble the breast cancer ribbon. I used a high quality batting in the middle so it is very thin but super warm, so the quilt weighs a total of 5 pounds! Breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer. And in 2005, breast cancer caused 502,000 deaths worldwide. As woman we are unique in many ways. And the fight against breast cancer which is 100 times less common in men than women is a battle we can come against together. One of the best ways to fight it is to do routine self examinations and to see your doctor every one to two years for a mammogram after age 35.
