Description
HAND DYED RUG HOOKING WOOL - MARBLEIZED "FLAMINGO" 3-pack3 Fat 1/8ths yard of Marbleized complementary wool, a FULL 3/8 YARD. [Each piece measures approx. 13-1/2" x 15-1/2"] *The two lighter pieces are variegated with streaks of pinks and soft orange sherbet shades to some apricot & orange-russet caramel overtones. *The darker red-orange is the Red-Orange "Grenadine" mentioned in these same listings with lighter subtle streaks running through the piece. [These are great for Princess & Cinderella pumpkins, gourds, pink grapefruit highlights, flamingos, sunset skies, flowers like Dahlias, circus themes, and "hair highlights" for Raggedy Ann & Andy characters!] My Marbleized wool has been blended from 3 different select wool colors ready for hooking or any other wool projects. Marbleized wool has its own subtle streaks that create natural texturing when hooked, especially. You will get subtle undulations in colors in each loop you hook! It is reversible with wonderful imperfections that give you complete freedom to express the painter in you! Feel free to use both sides, one a little darker great for outlining and backgrounds; the other side, a little lighter great for filling your design…or skies the limit! Also, this wool will give the wool appliqué artist more depth in their work! Perfect for Stained Glass Windows in your hooked or wool appliqué projects! Since this is my profession and not just my craft, I use only new, 100% wool fabric (yard goods cut from a bolt) from the finest suppliers in our industry. My wool has been HAND-dyed (by me) and pre-shrunk for immediate use in your projects. All my wools are suitable for the wide range of rug hooking (primitives and wide cut to fine shaded), penny rugs, quilting, art clothing and other creative projects. Be sure to check out the other beautiful wools in my auction listing AND for a snapshot of the rainbow of Autumn colors…take a look at my ABOUT ME page! Due to many requests to dye over some textured wools, I have included some of those items in this collection. It is most often recommended that you use a “wider cut” with a texture as many (not all) can have a looser weave and be a little more challenging to work with. For Primitive wool colors, like “Sweet Potato” or any other oranges, these are great for your Fall pumpkin projects. Also, orange is the complementary color to blue on the color wheel. A dark, rich blue or purple-blue background would offset your oranges nicely. For good color balance in your hooked rugs or appliqué projects, using the “complementary color” helps give pleasing interest to your piece. Don’t be afraid to also add a little “poison color” in your Fall rugs such as yellows or purples; as above, this adds color balance and a little spark of life to what can be otherwise a darker color scheme. I do my best to post photographs that realistically represent the colors in my hand-dyed wools. Please understand that computer monitors vary and the color representation you see may differ slightly from the original. In most cases, the colors in your wool will be much more pleasing in person than what you see in the photo. I guarantee 100% satisfaction. My wool comes to you from a No Smoking Zone! I think you will be very pleased with your wool selection!
