Description
This auction is for a complete rug hooking kit designed by Sharon Perry. It includes everything you need to complete this 14 X 20 inch Primitive Hooked Rug. Care has been taken in the packaging of this kit - it comes in a very sturdy zipper lock bag that's most convenient for taking it out and putting away at your leisure. It's a pretty simple design with a great mix of dyed and as is 100% wool strips - a mixture of brand new and washed and recycled wools stripped to a #8 size which is perfect for primitive rug hooking. The pattern is drawn on a lovely hairless linen - so durable and nice to work with. It would make a great wall hanging, table centerpiece or floor mat. The colors in this piece are mostly dyed and over dyed shades giving it a beautiful primitive look when finished. The border is done with deep red, oatmeal, navy and gold. The house is hooked with gold and blue, the fence with dyed caramel and dark brown. The sky in the background is done with a lovely mixture of blues. This kit is simple enough for the beginner, but would also make a great project for the seasoned rug hooker. Here's what you will receive if you purchase this kit:<p>Color Photo of Completed Rug Comprehensive Rug Hooking Instructions Color Key # 8 Cut Wool Strips Pattern Hand Drawn on hairless linen sealed at the edges to prevent fraying.Rug Binding for the Finished Rug I accept paypal, money orders and personal checks - a postage fee of 7.95 for priority mail within the U.S. or 8.95 airmail to Canada will be added to the winning bid. I do offer a postage discount when more than one item is purchased. If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first couple of rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. Should you need a hooking tool, I have solid maple medium Moshimer hooks available for $6.00 with any kit purchase. If you have any questions or would like to discuss rug hooking in general, please email me and thanks for your interest in my work. Kit comes from a smoke free home.PLEASE NOTE: I'LL BE AWAY FROM MY AUCTIONS FROM OCT 13TH TO THE 20TH SO ANY ITEMS PURCHASED AND/OR PAID FOR DURING THIS TIME PERIOD WILL BE MAILED ON OCTOBER 21ST. THANKS
