Description
This item is my father masterpiece^_^ I proud to sell for Museum or someone who love the nature like us ^_^A special on this piece is.... One leg peel out bark to show woodNO NAIL!!!, all connect by natural. Take more than 5 year to finish a chair!!!Message from My father (Mr. Nirandr Boonnetr). Wrote on 2001 Arborsculpture: Life - Furniture / Life-Art 1. Start thinking about Arborsculpture: I started thinking about Arborsculpture around 1983, (last 21 years) then, I did not think to manipulate a guava tree to become "a life-chair", but I just wanted to make something that my future children could play with ..riding on it , jumping and sitting on it, but accidentally when I was making it, the form of the work took shape looked like a chair. Two years after, it was still very thin and weak where nobody cannot sit on. People laughed at me, they thought it could not become a functional chair providing that the tree would grow up high and the legs of the chair would become very long. 3 years after that, it's proved that people's assumption was wrong. The structure of the life-chair remained the same height. More over, it was much bigger and stronger than before and I could sit on it. This was truly my first confidence, therefore, I continued expanding other pieces of work. (When i was young, our family union was doing on the tree like this ^_^) 2. Inspiration: inspired by beautiful photographs. When I was young I have seen several beautiful photographs of unusual twisted coconut trees ( part of promotion of tourism to the southern part of Thailand). I've also seen a falling tree brown down by strong wind. It did not die, even thou , its stem lying down near the ground, its branches spouted up to get the sun light. The form of the tree looked like a small bridge with green canopy... calm and cool. These magnificent images have been impressed and haunted in my memory, hence, created an inner drive and willingness to do something that is extraordinary once 3. Best successes: After 15 years, I completed the first 6 pieces of arborsculpture with 5 life-chairs and 1table. Many domestic and over sea media came to write story about the work. One piece of the work was presented and given to the Highness Crown Princes Sirinthorn. At present, I am able to train some big chairs from teak tree. (!!! I sat on Grand teak tree !!!) 4. Publishing: I have never done any publishing. How ever, many media published some part of my work through different channels as TVs., newspapers, journals and magazine nanely; ABC TV. Network, Channel 9 and Channel 7, GEO Australasia Bimonthly magazine for Australia Newzealand and The Asia - Pacific Region, Asia Magazine and German magazine, Bangkok Post, The Nation, Matichon weekly Journal, Chiang Mai News, etc. 5. Personal background: no background in agriculture Education : BSE. in Education MA. in Man and Environment Management 1st Class Honors GPA average 4 ; MS.in Community Development Work Experince: Teaching in University and HighSchool for 4 years Community Development work for more than 20 years 6. Spiritual and religious: I believe arborsculpture is the work that I used to ask God to reveal to me in the last 20 years. The work where I can do, when I ever I have time and willing to do. The work that fulfill my pleasure, at the same time, also returns good deed to society. Unlike other agricultural products, a Life-furniture or a Life-Art is the work that I do not rush to work neither hurry to harvest it. The work dose not require the exact time to work or harvest. It almost totally depends on the doer's viability and pleasure. Although I have a tough work in the past 22 years but arborsculpture is one of my hobby which I could say that I have been rejuvenated by the work. From time to time, I just sporadically did little work and mostly watching the life-furniture growing bigger and stronger as I had designed. Thus, awaiting hope at the end of each piece of work help my life was filled with excitement and meaningful. The hope and success shall come one by one at different periods of times. At least, alternatively, I always have a little hope and success laying ahead, await for me. 7. Ecology Environment and Art I no longer cut down the tree to make furniture but growing furniture. Cite as example, guava tree, here, not only give fruit for me but also for insects, butterfly and birds. The life-chair gives me a cooler place to sit under its canopy where the bird is on and singing near. The leaves of guava is not only good to make mouth refresher and cure diarrhea but also capture Carbon dioxide and control the moisture in the air and at the same time release Oxygen. How great is the chair! ; a chair that you can sit, eat, breath, rest, hear and see birds and beast sing and be around us. To me, an art is the constructive thing that the doer dose for his pleasure. The Life-Furniture is the artifact of my life. It portrays what is my thought, my way of life and my philosophy. The philosophy of simplicity and ecological balance. The art is friendly to environment and human being where human being is only a tiny part of the ecology. In doing this art, I firstly learn the nature of the tree, find different ways to work together with it in harmony with the least destructive means to one another. Use our imagination to make proper design to allow the nature to express it own ways to create functional art, the tactical techniques that facilitate the tree to exercise its duty in ecological cycle. The production of the functional art is what we could absorb its esthetic beauty for our pleasure and also what we can use it for other purposes. In each piece of the works, has its own uniqueness and enhancing new set of learning process for the doer. Hopefully, if it is possible, it may creates constructive paradigm shifted to the audients as well. 8. Tree species: 8.1 Guava tree 8.2 Teak ( Tectona grandis linn. F.) 9. Simple Techniques to train the life-furniture 9.1 control light (some parts need more sun light; use reflection technique by using mirror to reflect the sun light, esp. teak) 9.2 control water (for teak, the young tip of the tree become wither; easy to be bend) 9.3 use small lead stick (1 cm. thick) wrapped by plastic sheet and fastened by small rope then bend the branch or stem of the tree 9.4 use the bamboo post to hold the training structure by fasten the part of structure with the post 9.5 use thick post to pull and control the structure 9.6 use heavy material to hang on the branch 9.7 pruning 9.8 control sap of grafted branches must be in proportionate level; if more sap taken from other branch, the original branch will not grow thinker or it may die; if too much sap from original branch, the connection to the new branch become weak. (guava tree) 10. Proud of today and plan for tomorrow: I was proud when some columnists named me as "The farther of Living Furniture" (Bangkok Post. January 16, 1996) and some called me as an artist. It's seemed that these names are too great for a simple man who is mearly a community development worker. Vice versa, these encourage me to expand the work in near future. Now, I am trying to seek support from possible sources so I can share the learned techniques of training life-furniture to other people. I have been dreaming that one day in future I and other people shall plant life - furniture for thousand pieces. I will sacrifice for the work. It is my mission. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The strongest piece and lifelong --> It made from teak tree >>>>>>>I sell this Teak tree chair (Item as you see now).<<<<<<< My father finished it already. So now we bring it in our house and keep it for pleasure and for sell. My father done it very well. It's worthy!! And all money I sell chair will use for me and my sister education.
