This book is designed for young people who are to be assisted by a teacher. The instructions are therefore brief, but the illustrations are numerous. But I expect that you have at least a little mechanical ability, so you shouldn't need extremely detailed instructions anyway. Many pages are covered entirely with photos and/or drawings to instruct and inspire. Working copper was a trade at one time and coppersmiths were an important part of the economy. Now we mostly use plastic so the need for coppersmiths is gone but there is still a desire to replicate the beautiful work and pieces from that era of real craftsman. Every trade has its own language. Any aspiring craftsman who fancies himself or herself a serious student of the art must first learn its language, then it becomes easy to learn. This is a great book to learn not only the language but the basic principles of working copper into useful and decorative objects. Lots of great how-to for a very small price.
