Marbleizing (or marbling) is a method of decorating paper that dates back to eighth century Japan. It is called marbleizing because it resembles the swirls inside a glass marble. It is a relatively easy effect to create on paper, but not so in weaving - and this yardage is beautifully done in magnificent colors and with an incredibly soft hand and a subtle sheen that makes the fabric look like it glows from within.
