3.6# black grey blue WOOL STRIPS weaving crafts Start Price USD 4.00 Current Price USD 4.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, August 31, 2008 End Time Sunday, September 07, 2008 Location Pacific Northwest See more about '3.6# black grey blue WOOL STRIPS weaving crafts' Description BLACK, GREY, BLUE WOOL FABRIC STRIPS  Up for auction is one lot of 6 various groupings of wool fabric strips.  This is a nice medium weight coat weight wool in a basic black, grey and blue colors.  It is a basic weave, and is tightly woven.  Total weight 3 pounds 10 ounces.  Each grouping is in its own sack.  Description as follows: 5 oz. black, 4" - 17" long, about 7/8" width almost 6 oz. charcoal, 12 strips at 50" long, 1 at 37" long, about 7/8" width 1# 2 oz. lighter charcoal, 28 strips @ 60", about 7/8" width almost 11 oz. lighter black, 9" - 120" length, most at 25", 1/2 to 7/8" width almost 14 oz. black, 13 at 150" long, 5 shorter, 3/4 to 1" width 5 oz. blue, 3" - 13" long, 7/8" width I have already cut these on a Rigby Cutter, so all the sides are straight.  They are ready to weave.  Either sew them together end to end (my preference) in your own predetermined pattern, or lay them in.  I cut these to make a rug but now I am not going to use them.  It makes a soft, and durable woven rug.  The fabric is backed (bonded) on one side, which provides a "self lining".  (look closely in the picture, and you can see it).  The backing does not interfere with weaving, as it nicely folds into the center for each shed.  Thus, only the wool shows on both sides of the finished product.  This wool, and resulting rug is machine washable in cold water, and hang to dry. It could make gorgeous beautiful fiber art works, such as in  weaving, or decorations.  I believe it to be 100 percent wool.  The backing is probably a nylon mesh. It comes from a Pacific Northwest Clothing Manufacturer, purchased to make high end garments, and has been stored in a dry, smoke-free, pet-free area.  There are no odors, no holes no stains.   Thank you for looking and good luck on Bidding!!!
