Description
qsterstuff Store 18x6 Spalted River Birch Bowl Turning Lathe Wood Blank 146-39*** A Big Spalted piece of River Birch ***River birch was first cultivated in 1736. Although it tends to be a medium-sized tree, one tree in Alabama has grown to 111 feet tall, with a diameter of more than 4 feet. Because of its graceful silhouette and attractive bark, river birch is a highly prized ornamental. River birch wood is strong, but light, making it ideal for the manufacture of children's toys and artificial limbs. River birch wood is hard, strong, and close-grained. Its main uses are for local furniture manufacture, basket materials, and small woodenware. Size : Diameter: 17-1/2” Thickness: 6”Sealed: Yes, completely coated with Anchorseal after photo. The ONLY trusted wood sealant.Condition: We cut our blanks and seal them while still green. This makes for much easier turning, and less dust in the shop. The last picture is a sample turning of River Birch. (This is not included for sale in the auction.)I will combine multiple auction wins to save you on shipping. Bid on as many as you like, and I'll get you reduced shipping due to combined weight. I cannot combine veneer auctions with my bowl blanks. The bowl blanks are too heavy, and will crush the veneer. If you win both veneer and bowl blanks, they'll need to ship in separate boxes. This wood comes from trees that have been cut down for urban development. All my bowl blanks are salvaged from city dumping yards. I save, so you can save. Each additional blank you win ships within the United States for only $7.99 (or less) in the same box. .95 cents added for boxing fee. All allowed payments types accepted... however, the only way I can take credit cards is via Paypal. I will invoice you after the auction. I guarantee your satisfaction, with all my wood. Be sure and use the shipping calculator within the auction, to calculate your shipping cost from me, to you. 2 pounds will be added to the shipping weight at time of invoice, to accommodate the box weight. If outside of the USA, then eMail me for shipping costs before bidding
