Buckeye Burl - Natural Shape Burl Tabletop Slab Dimensions about: 24"long x 21"wide x 3" thick, weighs about 17lbs. Measurements are approximate and taken from the furthest points. Recommended Uses: Table Top, Wall Sculpture, Display Slab, Furniture or Sculptural Component, Carving or Turning Projects This is a very dramatic slab of buckeye that would make an awesome tabletop or you may have other ideas. This slab has been belt sanded to 60 grit so you can get an idea what the colors and figure are like. The grain and figure will really stand out once you fine sand and apply a finish. There is still some bark attached along the edges. Buckeye burl will always have some voids, bark pockets, checks and bug holes. All these go together to give a really unusual organic look to this stunning burl slab. This slab has not been pressure washed or been in the kiln. That can be done upon request and would delay delivery time by about 2 weeks. If you do want the slab pressure washed to remove bark and run through the kiln, please list your request under terms when you place your offer so I can account for the extra labor involved. Natural burl like this will sometimes have some cracks and checking, bark pockets, bug holes, voids and softer spots. That is characteristic to this type of wood. I took good closeup photos so you can see just what you are getting. Photos show the wood lightly misted with water so you don't have to guess how it will look finished. This piece is like a one of a kind piece of art. Your project doesn't deserve anything less. This wood has been treated with Timbor, a nontoxic product that helps give protection from wood eating bugs. Please look at the photos and read the description. If for any reason the wood is not what you wanted, return it for a full refund of your purchase price. Unfortunately, I am unable to refund shipping costs. UPS and the Post Office get's to keep that. If an item get's damaged in the mail, let me know and we will file a claim right away. In that case the shipper will pick up the item and return it to us. After it arrives you would receive a refund of both purchase price and shipping cost. Shipping in US is UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail . Use the shipping calculator to figure shipping charges to your address. This shows charges for the size and weight of the wood adding a little for packing materials. International purchases are shipped USPS Priority Mail. There are no packaging or handling charges. We will package multiple items purchased together to save you money on shipping costs whenever possible."It's a Burl" has been supplying burl wood to both the hobbyist and the professional woodworker since 1977.
