The Nantucket Lightship molds are one of the most beautiful and proportioned hardwood molds you can find. It is sanded glossy smooth and coated with several applications of tung oil to provide years of wonderful service and usage. The mold is superbly handcrafted and is equipped with a screw and brass insert used to attach the Basket Bottoms to the mold. Also included in the auction are 15 Basket Bottoms of miscellaneous size. I believe most of the bottoms are solid cherry as the wood has a light red hue to it. There might be a couple of solid oak bottoms in the lot if they are not cherry. Each smoothly-finished Bottom has a deep groove cut into its edge and a hole drilled into its center. **You get (7) 3" Basket Bottoms (diameter of bottom)** **You get (5) 3 3/8" Basket Bottoms** **You get (3) 4 3/4" Basket Bottoms** The mold itself will often sell for over $100.
